Brook Street wins Microsoft Vendor Programme UK Excellence Award 2005 - London UK, 5 July 2005

Leading recruitment agency recognised as Vendor of the Year

Brook Street today announced that they have been named as the winner of the Vendor of the Year Award at the Microsoft Vendor Programme UK Excellence Awards 2005.

Brook Street supply all non-permanent staff to Microsoft in the UK and speaking about the awards, Paul Hart financial director at Microsoft UK commented, “We believe that Brook Street have proved themselves to be a dedicated and enthusiastic vendor to work with. We have been able to develop the relationship into that of a trusted partner. Their overall service and management of the account is excellent in terms of loyalty and dedication. Brook Street is to be applauded for their professional and efficient approach to our relationship and are worthy winners of this award.

The Microsoft® Vendor Programme (MSVP) which launched in the UK in 2003, was created to make it easy for Microsoft employees to work with a pre-qualified, select group of vendors—and for vendors to work with Microsoft. As a leading employer in the UK, Microsoft believes it has a responsibility to treat its suppliers with respect and consideration, giving them as much information as they need in order to have a productive working relationship. The Awards have been established to reward those companies who have embraced this Microsoft initiative and proved themselves as a trusted and preferred supplier.

There are five categories in the Microsoft Vendor Programme Awards:

  • Value Excellence - awarded for a vendor that initiated cost savings through decreased cost or increased efficiency.

  • Quality Excellence - awarded for a vendor that significantly increased quality by introducing an innovative quality improvement initiative.

  • Service Excellence - awarded for a vendor that significantly increased flexibility and responsiveness.

  • Technology Excellence - awarded for a vendor that successfully implemented technology that enables superior performance in supply chain operations.

  • Vendor of the Year - awarded for a vendor who has demonstrated excellence in any two or more categories.

Microsoft is proving that cost control and strong relationships with suppliers lead to stability for both supplier and purchaser alike.” Continued Hart, “It does not matter whether the supplier is a huge multinational or a small local agency, a good relationship will be one where there are clear guidelines to working practice and no grey area’s which may lead to false expectations or poor delivery of goods or services.

Microsoft encourages companies to publish standard working practice information to all to enable potential suppliers to know what they need to do in order to work for UK plc's.
