It's not just the city that's steeped in history - 22 May 2008

May 2008 is a notable date for Brook Street in Inverness as it celebrates its five year anniversary of being in the town.

Since its set up in 2003, this Brook Street branch has been established right in the heart of Inverness town centre serving a huge area that includes the Western Islands as well as communities to the north and east. The tremendous hard work from the team during this period has resulted in some true partnerships with their clients and candidates.

Branch manager Wendy Mitchell continues to welcome both clients and candidates into the branch as she did when she started up this prosperous concern.

Euan Bayliss, a former Brook Street candidate told us about his time with the branch, “I had been working through Brook Street in Bradford and then, we moved up to the north of Scotland. Pulled by the scenery, the slower pace of life and the education system for my stepdaughter, I was delighted to find Brook Street had a branch on the high street. Having had such a commendable service from the Bradford branch I was confident about moving North without having a job to go to.

Wendy and Donna at the Inverness branch were more than helpful, and put in a lot of work finding me a placement before finally getting me a couple of weeks work at one of their clients. That was over 18 months ago, and I'm still here, now as a permanent employee. It's thanks to Wendy and Donna that I got the opportunity that I wouldn't have otherwise have known about!”

The branch celebrated their best year in 2007 and with over 12 years recruitment experience in the team Wendy says “The time has gone quickly and we are really pleased with the impact we’ve been able to have in the area. We are all feeling confident, positive and excited as we look forward to the challenges of the next five years.”
