Career Advice - Interview Advice (Cont.)

Asking Your Questions

At the end of the interview you will have the chance to ask questions. Capitalise on this opportunity to look keen and prepared.

  • Ask about the company culture, the department and the job

  • Find out more about training opportunities and potential for promotion

  • Discuss the working hours – is there a flexitime policy or a set lunch hour?

  • Enquire about any additional benefits such as private healthcare or a pension

  • Find out if there is a second or third round of interviews

  • Ask if there are any ‘team’ activities you could become involved in, such as football or hockey teams

Do not ask about salary until you are sufficiently advanced in the interview process. This is rude and highlights you as someone ‘only in it for the pay cheque’.
