An exciting opportunity has arisen within a bespoke furniture company based in Leamington Spa for a Mechanical design engineer to join their team
The post will be based within the operations team that provide service to customers and specifiers on bespoke lighting and street furniture products from the first point of enquiry to installation.
The role will have responsibility for the following duties:
*Managing projects from order to installation on site
*Checking orders
*Maintaining costs
*Producing drawings using Solidworks or AutoCAD
*Creating bills of material
*Supporting production department in the manufacturing and installation processes
*Produce project specific technical data including O&M and Installation documents
*Help in the selection of suppliers and setting and checking of quality standards
The required candidate will posses the following skills and experience:
*Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design or similar
*Minimum of 3 years experience in similar engineering role
*Good understanding of mechanical engineering/engineering processes
*Confident and articulate
*Excellent telephone manner and personal presentation as the post requires some face to face meetings with customers as well as offering direct technical advice and support to customers by phone and email
*Highly computer literate
*Good understanding and experience of using ERP/MRP business software, Microsoft Office and Project
*Good understanding and experience of using different materials, processes and paint finishes
*AutoCAD or Solidworks experience would be advantageous
The successful candidate must have a good strong work ethic, be hard working and tenacious and a team player with a customer focused outlook.
