Job Description

Job Title - 3D Artist
Location - London

Brook Street is currently working on behalf of our Global IT Client to recruit a 3D Artist
This is a contract role based in London, Paddington for 6 months (max contract duration 18 months)

As a Brook Street contractor you will be entitled to 25 days holiday per annum, 8 days paid Bank Holidays pro rota, discounted gym membership, use of the onsite health facility, access to online learning and training, free parking and an excellent subsidised restaurant.

Salary: Up to £35,345 plus 5% end of contract bonus depending on experience

Job Description
As a Senior VFX artist you will help create real-time particle effects such as magic, fire, explosions and environment effects for our projects. Real-time particle effect creation is composed of several areas: Effect simulation, particle creation, material authoring, texture creation, effects playback setup, content profiling and optimization. Most VFX artists will work in all areas to some degree but there is also room for specializing. This is a truly exciting time at Rare and we are looking forward to finding more passionate VFX artists with a healthy mix of art and technology!

Responsibilities

o Responsible for creating in-game particle effects
o Ensures that Effects are setup correctly in the level
o Create Effects from concept to completion for different gameplay requirements
o Contribute to content creation workflow and tool development for the VFX team
o Work collaboratively with the Art/Design/Engineering disciplines to support and resolve artistic challenges.
o Develop a good understanding of the Art direction and create effects to support the vision.
o Create Effects to realistic budgets and take ownership of the memory and performance costs of your effects.

Travelling to Twycross occasional, twice a month

Candidate Requirements
o A professional portfolio or VFX blog
o Experienced at least one full project cycle as a VFX Artist for Current Gen Games or Film Production.
o More than 2 years Game development or Film VFX production experience
o Experience of creating real-time particle effects in game engines like Unreal or Unity.
o Good knowledge of content creation packages (Real-time VFX Engines/Houdini/Maya/After Effects/etc)
o Some knowledge of programming languages such as Python/HLSL
