Job Description

Are you a peoples person? Are you an experienced Community Development Officer looking for a new local opportunity?

My client is an award winning homelessness charity based in the London Borough of Newham, providing residential and life-skills support for single homeless adults. THIS THIS A 6 MONTH FTC.

" To develop the organisations Community Development and Resilience Programmes, along with producing, developing and promoting a Social Prescription model, in line with the organisation's existing vision, mission and business plan.

" To work with the people from Canning Town and neighbouring areas in developing workshop programmes/ activities that improve individual and community wellbeing, generate aspiration and confidence and to support Your Space members in their development, encouraging and enabling their active engagement in building stronger networks of emotional support.

" To work actively to secure partnerships with key local service providers to streamline and develop collaborative programmes tailored to community needs and identified gaps, working with CCG and NHS to pitch and share Social Prescription offering/model.

" To work as a link between communities and local organisations and statutory bodies, actively seeking to identify and address inequalities including undertaking targeted work with communities who face additional disadvantage or discrimination.

" To develop a working model based on Your Space Theory of Change and to further develop this model with Impact Manager, enabling and evaluative framework to be developed to capture KPI's and measure impact of work.

" To liaise with a range of statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies and organisations to identify potential participants, improve resident access to services, maximise resident choices and respond to resident aspirations

" To develop appropriate and relevant policy and strategy in conjunction with Director of Front Line Services so as to ensure the effective operation of the Your Space programmes.




The ideal candidate will be:

" Self-sufficient and highly organised with the ability to accomplish goals according to deadlines, and a flexibility and to juggle a variety of tasks
" Ability to act on own initiative and effectively under own direction, as well as productively within a team
" Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
" Awareness of own training and support needs.


£26,000, pension, 25 days holiday.
