Accountant

Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client inBallyclare to recruit a new full time and permanent Accountant - the candidate for this role can be full or part qualified.

The successful candidate will join an existing accounts team of 8 staff in a busy role that will involve responsibility for a range of accounts duties as outlined below.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Stock reconciliations and assisting in stock control and reporting
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Financial analysis of performance against budget and investigation of key variances
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Posting and preparation of journals
  • Assisting with external audit
  • Meeting month end deadlines
  • Ad hoc duties commensurate with the position and providing support to accounts team as required


Required Criteria

  • Must possess membership of a professional accountancy body (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Can be part or fully qualified
  • Have revious experience of the aforementioned key duties and responsibilities with ideally 2 years plus experience in the preparation of management accounts
  • Excellent general IT skills (experience of PowerBI would be advantageous)
  • Advanced level experience of Microsoft Excel (regular use of pivot tables, V lookups, advanced formulae)
  • Previous experience of using accounts packages
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate and liaise well with staff at all levels across the business


This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week with flexibility required to meet deadlines as applicable.
