Job Description

My client is one of the UK`s leading destination specialists offering a wide range of inspiring holiday programmes. As Accounts Assistant working in the Finance team, your primary responsibility is maintaining the accuracy & integrity of the ledgers and to support colleagues in a variety of tasks in order to help deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main:
" Responsible for sales receipts: reconciliations, postings (daily rec), payment errors & the control a/c
" Posting all transactions from daily bank statements and reconciliations of bank accounts
" Responsible for processing customer refunds
" Raise ad hoc sales invoices & credit control
" Responsible for petty cash including reconciliation
" Responsible for the IATA BSP reconciliation and postings to the nominal ledger
" Process & approve invoices and maintain Purchase Ledger for flight invoices
" Purchase ledger statement reconciliations
" Email remittance advices to suppliers
" Balance sheet reconciliations - Fixed Assets, Prepayments & Accruals
" Providing cover for the Accounts Manager & colleagues in the Finance Department
" Ad hoc reporting and analysis of the nominal ledger as required

Other:
" Participate in regular meetings relevant to your team. Create training files and ensure notes are compiled and kept up-to-date.
" Ensure that you understand and are comfortable with your own work aims and objectives with the aim to meeting these on a consistent basis.
" Assist other teams and departments as required.
" To support your teams and individuals in times of absence, at peak times or when the business needs dictate.
" Maintain flexible working hours to facilitate customer needs and expectations.
INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
" Awareness of your own progress regarding personal targets, and successful achievement or more of these targets
" Participate in regular staff appraisals and reviews and be aware of your own development needs
" Ensure that you are aware of the Company`s business aims and targets
" Work and liaise with others departments within Discover the World
