Job Description

Accounts Assistant

Salary - £22,000 - £25,000

Working Hours: Monday - Friday (08:00am - 17:00pm)

Location: Southampton/Totton

My Client is an independent international market leader in the service and spare parts supply of all models of turbochargers tot the marine and industries.

Client has offices throughout the world with the Head Office being based in Totton, Southampton, and sophisticated purpose-built workshops in Genova (Italy), MMH Docks (Malta), Houston (USA), Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Southampton (UK), Sales offices in Cyprus and Greece, and strategic international partners in Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Turkey.

As the Accounts Assistant you will be reporting to the Finance Director and supporting them on a day-to-day basis as well as supporting the MD.


This role will be assisting with the data entry and reconciliation functions within the Accounting Department as well as getting involved and supporting with various other projects when required. The role heavily involves supporting the accounting departments of our group offices worldwide.

Key responsibilities:

  • Handling supplier invoices; inputting, chasing authorisation, logging and reconciling.
  • Daily Bank posting and reconciliations.
  • Sales receipt reporting
  • Invoice discounting batch uploads and analysis.
  • Credit card input analysis and reporting
  • Timesheet processing and job costing
  • Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as required
  • Processing journals
  • Nominal ledger postings
  • Inputting expense claims
  • Fixed asset tagging and reporting
  • Report running and analysis reporting
  • Providing administrative and clerical support as needed
  • Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by the Management
  • Assisting in Statutory and other audits
