Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is working with out client in Newtownards who due to significant growth are seeking an ambitious Accounts Clerk to join their growing accounts team.

Job Purpose:

To accurately and timeously process data into the accounting system and to assist the Finance Department in providing high quality management accounts and business partnering support service. To provide administrative and functional support to the Finance Department ensuring all policies and processes are adhered to.

Key Accountability's:

Accounts Payable

* Ensure all invoices are approved & allocated to appropriate budget headings in two different companies
* Match all GRN's to invoices and provide evidence thereof
* Query any differences between GRNs and invoices with suppliers and request credit notes
* Post complete purchase ledger invoices
* Post contra entries between Creditor and Debtor accounts as instructed by the Assistant Accountant
* Ensure all invoices are properly authorised
* Maintain the supplier files

Bank / Credit Cards / Petty Cash

* Process single and bulk BAC's payments
* Post all manual supplier payments
* Reconcile the petty cash on a periodic basis
* Process petty cash journals periodically


General / Adhoc Duties

* Ensure that all filing is up to date
* General ad hoc duties as required by the Financial Controller or senior management
* General office duties

Cover
* Provide cover for the assistant accountant when necessary


Criteria:

* Experience in Accounting Software
* Experience in Microsoft software
* Experience with bookkeeping
* Knowledge of accounting terminology
* Experience with different filing systems
* Administrative skills Knowledge of accounting rules and legislation

Salary will start on £20,000 per annum
