Job Description

We are proud to be supporting a global automotive supplier with their recruitment for an Accounts Payable Coordinator in a position which is based in a fantastic facility in Telford.
To maintain an efficient purchase ledger and support Finance Manager. Ensuring suppliers are paid in a timely and accurate manner in line with the company's controls and procedures

The role entails but is not limited to:

  • Responding directly to supplier queries
  • Resolving purchase invoice queries to ensure timely payment
  • Adherence to SOX internal controls and compliance with purchase ledger procedures.
  • Purchase Invoice processing and matching to GRN and PO (in SAP)
  • Assist Purchasing with PR and PO review and housekeeping.
  • GRNI review and housekeeping
  • GRNI reconciliation to Balance Sheet
  • Review supplier returns, raising debit notes, chasing & processing supplier credit notes
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Payment selection, proposal and processing.
  • Reviewing and processing employee expense claims
  • Preparing General Ledger purchase accrual journals.
  • General Ledger journal entry
  • Preparation of VAT return, reconciliation of imports and related import VAT.
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant.


Essential experience/skills

  • Excellent literacy & numeracy skills
  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable
  • SAP experience - Payables and General Ledger
  • Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Good interpersonal skills with "hands on" problem solving expertise
  • Work collaboratively to achieve project/company goals. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Able to follow formal procedures
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Team orientated
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Objectivity - display the ability to effectively challenge

Desirable experience/skills

  • Experience in an automotive environment

Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment. Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided for all conditions.
