Job Description

Brook Street is the chosen recruitment partner to Public Sector employers throughout the UK.
We have an ongoing temporary position for an Admin Officer in Swansea on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday, 37 hours).
The Agency Worker will provide administrative support. He or she will follow set procedures and will exercise some independent judgement in carrying out instructions, under general supervision.

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
o A positive and can-do approach to the possibility of change
o Effective communication skills
o Strong Customer Service Skills
o Good organisational skills
o Approachability and confidence when dealing with staff and managers at all grades
o The ability to set-up and configure desktop and portable IT equipment (training provided)
o The ability to follow written technical instructions for a variety of tasks.

No previous experience is necessary, but some existing IT knowledge is desirable .

Brief description of duties and any skills required:

o Assist the Local Office LSA with Incident and Request Management duties.
o Assist with the scanning of physical IT assets and maintenance of asset management database.
o Provide support for the relocation of IT equipment in accordance with local office requirements.
o Dealing with deliveries and enabling the safe handling and storage of IT equipment.
o Preparing and packaging of IT equipment for delivery to remote users via existing logistics contracts or Local Office home delivery arrangements.
o Assist with the maintenance of local documentation.
o Liaise with 3rd party suppliers where appropriate.
o Adhere to IT Service Management guidelines.
o Participate in and provide support to local IT projects.
o Develop a high-level awareness of local technical infrastructure and key hardware/software components.
o Develop own knowledge of IT support requirements for a local office.
o Build a knowledge of technical support teams and DDaT structure


The successful candidate will be working in a secure environment which requires a high level of background and clearance checks. This will include Criminal Record Checks (DBS Checks), Reference Checks (Employment, Education and any gaps) (3 years), Address checks (5 years) and may involve us obtaining character references and/or other evidence to cover periods of unemployment.

Once the successful candidate has been offered the role, these checks will commence. These normally take anything from 7 days to 28 days, depending on how quickly we can obtain this information for clearance.
