Job Description

Job Title: Project Commercial Assistant

Location: Swindon (hybrid)

Contract Length: 1 Year Temporary Contract

Pay Rate: £17.39 per hour

We are currently seeking a Project Commercial Assistant to join our asset protection team. In this role, you will provide commercial support for our scope of work, including assisting with cost compilation for invoicing on projects that we commercially manage and periodic reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a variety of pre and post-commercial support activities and interface with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in report running and compiling data for cost reporting of all allocated projects within the reporting framework, including Cost Forecasting, Anticipated Final Cost, Cost of Work Done, Gross Billing, and Current Contract Value.

- Report on commercial aspects of allocated projects, flagging issues and proposing mitigation actions to the Commercial Manager at the earliest opportunity.

- Prepare and manage cost invoice breakdowns for a portfolio of projects/schemes.

- Prepare and raise billing against the various agreements in place with the investment teams' clients, ensuring payments received and necessary reporting is prepared.

- Prepare applications for payment/invoices to outside clients in accordance with relevant funding agreements, including supporting documentation as appropriate.

- Support the Commercial Manager in final account settlements and internal reconciliation to project close-out within agreed timescales.

- Prepare documentation to support the Commercial Manager in estimating resources.

- Input data related to project costs.

Requirements:

- Basic knowledge of the construction/railway industry.

- Strong numeracy skills.

- Knowledge of railway and construction industry forms of contract.

- Computer literate.

- Associate member of (or working towards) a professional body.

- Good Excel skills.

Desirable:

- Educated to A Level standard.

- Experience of working within a commercial environment.

- Knowledge of estimating, valuation, and cost reporting.
