Job Description

The Ministry of Justice - Admin Officer
Location: Leeds City Centre
Salary: £8.36ph increasing to £9.59ph after 12 weeks
Hours: Monday - Friday (37 hours)


This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension at the discretion of the business requirements.

Role Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a full time Administration Officer to join the Team at the Employment Tribunal Services with our client, The Ministry of Justice. The role will include working as part of a flexible team. This is a very interesting and varied role. The suitable candidate will be required to deal with enquiries from the public and legal representatives by phone and in person. They will also be required to clerk Tribunal hearings and provide administrative support to the judiciary.


Responsibilities include:
- Referring correspondence to an Employment Judge and sending written communications to the parties involved in hearings (mostly via e-mail)
- Using Windows 10 and the Tribunal's own in-house case management system
- Routine office tasks such as filing post, linking, photocopying and scanning of documents will be required
- Clerking Employment Tribunal hearings
- Meeting the parties and providing support the Employment Judge to make sure the smooth running of the hearings
- Dealing with the enquiries both face to face and by telephone
- Inputting details, retrieving data and referring correspondence to the judiciary and sending directions to the parties
- Printing and lining post
