Job Description

The Ministry of Justice - Admin Officer
Location: Leeds City Centre
Hours: Monday - Friday (37 hours)
Pay: £9.59 per hour


Role Overview:
We are currently recruiting for 20 full time Administration Officers to join the Team at the Leeds Social Security and Child Support Tribunals (SSCS) with our client, The Ministry of Justice based in Leeds City Centre. The role will include working as part of a flexible team. Carrying out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court/tribunal system. While also clerking the civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings.


Responsibilities include:
- Preparing papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings
- Producing court/tribunal documents
- Creating and updating records on the in-house computer system
- Data inputting
- Post opening and dispatching
- Booking, preparing and organising meeting rooms, supporting training courses and other group activities
- Preparing meeting agendas, joining instructions and handouts
- Drafting standard letters and correspondence, minutes, notes and reports
- Clerking civil and family courts. Tribunals and hearings (ensuring papers and materials are available and up to date
- Assisting court users
- Processing casework such as court orders, claims, fines and fees
- Processing basic statistical analysis reports


What we are looking for:
- Be willing to learn new procedures, seek to exploit new technologies help colleagues do the same
- Not be afraid to ask questions when unsure
- Act in a fair and respectful way when dealing with court users and colleagues
- Good communication skills
- Excellent grammar and spelling
- Low sickness record
- Great customer service and team building skills
- Good Word and Excel is desirable
