Job Description

Brook Street is seeking an Administrator for a minimum of three months to cover a temporary role at HMP Stoke Heath Market Drayton.

Working 37 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to provide an effective and efficient administration service to a functional/ departmental team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide a full administrative service so that the needs of the functional/departmental team are met.
Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner.

Deal with all routine queries so that an appropriate response is provided.

Act in accordance with security and operational instructions at all times to ensure the maintenance of security within the secure environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook Email & Calendar

Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable.

You must be eligible to work in the UK and must have been resident in the UK for a minimum period of 5 years. You will also need to provide full details of your employment and education history for the last three years.

This temporary admin post is based in a portacabin in a shared working space with other staff within the prison.

The work requires a good understanding of Microsoft Excel, excellent computer skills and a good telephone manner to deal with staff queries.

It is essential to demonstrate flexibility along with an ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.

There may be minimal contact with inmates whilst taking minutes of meetings however, the meeting would be chaired and supervised by other staff.

The temporary member would be subject to vetting before their appointment.
