Brook Street are hiring 2 customer service representatives to join an established team within the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The DWP is seeing an unprecedented demand for their services as the Covid 19 outbreak takes effect across the UK. The DWP needs to ensure that there is capacity to deal with the upsurge in demand for their services.
The DWP are aware of the social distancing rules and these will always be adhered to.
You will provide excellent customer service to a diverse range of customers and employers and make decisions regarding benefit entitlement by examining the available facts. You will be confident in dealing with frustrated customers and resolving difficult telephone conversations.
You will assess claims and deal with enquiries via electronic means. It is key to support the Department`s aim that digital contact will become the primary channel for claimants.
You may be required to work at any time between the hours of 7.45am and 8pm on any day between Monday to Friday and 8.45am to 5pm on Saturday. You will be given notice of your schedule. In certain circumstances you may be asked to start work at 7am or work up to 10pm. The full-time working week is 37 hours.
You must be able to start in the next 2 to 4 weeks for a period up to 6 months (with possibility to extend).
The role is subject to DBS and referencing. You must have physical evidence of your employment for the last 3 years. This includes pay slips, P45, P60s or contracts of employment.
You must have been a resident in the UK for five consecutive years, spending no longer than 6 months abroad. Any overseas travel longer than 6 months requires an overseas police check.
This is a temporary role. You will not be considered for the role if you are currently in a permanent job.
