Border Force AO BMU - Staffing

The Business Management Command (BMC) is a busy operational support team based out of Martello house in Folkestone. It covers the areas of transport, staffing and recruitment, finance, risk management, information management, civil penalties and secretariat. Whilst the work is based out of Martello house there is the requirement of staff to travel and work in locations both within and outside the region.

The AO role involves working as part of a team within the Business Management Command to provide a wide range of support services to operational frontline Border Force staff across regions. All work within this directorate is customer focused. Candidates will need to be flexible as they will be expected to work in one of the many areas within the BMC. You will be cross trained to work in other areas of the unit where work levels require this.

You will need good literacy and communication skills as the post holder will have regular contact with Border Force operational staff across regions as well as external stakeholders. Training will be provided.

Essential Criteria:
- Strong IT skills - Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Typical Duties within BMC will include:
- Handling and dealing with queries relating to your work area from the business or the public.
- Managing team inbox
- Maintenance of spreadsheets and databases to provide information to managers.
- Assist within the wider Regional Corporate Service area in Martello House as required.
_ Producing Designation and Posting Letters.
_Issuing Passes and Warrants.

Please note that although you may be posted to a team initially you will be expected to work in other teams to assist with priority work.
