Job Description

Admin Officer

A fantastic opportunity has opened to work full-Time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday in a temporary position in Liverpool for 3 - 6 months. This position is working for a government department in Liverpool city centre.

Responsibilities and Duties

Primary Purpose

Counter Service Officers within Customer Service Offices and Centres will contribute to safeguarding identity through managing customers arriving to counter services and carrying out related activities to deliver a world class customer service within the Customer Service Network

Key Responsibilities

* Greet all customers and visitors at reception and provide appropriate assistance

* Effectively organise the daily appointments, welcoming customers, setting expectations, explaining the process, putting customers at ease and handling queries including complaints

* Check customers in for appointment at the appropriate time, complete required checks and establish if applicant is fit for interview

* Plan and prepare for all allotted interviews, ensuring that any required special arrangements are facilitated

Note: An employee may be required to carry out other duties within the scope of the grade and within the limits of their skill, competence and training.

Essential Criteria


* Proven ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a busy team.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and Service Level Agreements whilst maintaining attention to detail.
* Experience of using spreadsheets and word processing packages (preferably Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word). As well as good overall IT knowledge
* Ability to communicate effectively with staff and external stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills
* Face to face customer experience
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Resilience
* Ability to face challenging conversations

Hours of work

  • 37 hours a week Monday - Friday

Rate of Pay

  • £9.06 p/h for the first 12 weeks and then £11.10 p/h after 12 weeks
