Job Description

We are hiring Admin Officer !

Location: Croydon, CR9 2BY
Salary: £14.91 per hour
Contract: Temporary, 6-months - possibility of extension
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday: 9:00 to 17:00 with some flexibility, 37 hours per week, hybrid working at least 3 days in the office when able to work independently.

Brook Street in partnership with Home Office has a fantastic opportunity to join the Appeals Processing Centre. You will provide daily operational support to the Appeals Data Team, Appeals Processing Team, Digital Service Team and Business Support Teams as required to ensure His Majesty Courts and Tribunal Service output targets are met.

Key duties:

  • Accurately input the required data within strict timelines for your allocated cases and regularly check the data. Accuracy in data entry is essential for these roles.
  • Prepare appeal bundles within time limits ensuring bundles are dispatched within set timescales referring complex cases or casework errors to your manager.
  • Complete a variety of administrative functions.
  • Use record management system to monitor the immigration case records of appellants complying with records management principles and the data protection act legislation.
  • Clear and concise written communications.
  • Work with management information reports.
  • Have a flexible approach to deliver a professional customer service to Home Office standards.
  • Seek to deliver continuous improvement, using customer & internal/external stakeholder feedback, highlighting problems and sharing best practice.
  • Putting forward ideas leading to operational performance improvements, cost savings or better services for customers.
  • "Getting the basics right" at all times; raising concerns if not happening in your area.
  • Act as a role model for HO values to make UKVI a great work place.
  • Adhere to Home Office policies for handling the various levels of marked information; internally and externally.
  • Store UKVI information and documents appropriately following security guidelines.
  • Accurately using shared folders on the corporate network.
  • Demonstrate a motivated and flexible approach.

Essential skills:

  • Accuracy and an eye for detail
  • Proficient in IT systems; Outlook, Word and Excel - it is essential this software can be used confidently. Full training will be provided in Home Office and HMCTS systems
  • Working as part of a team but with little supervision


Training:

No holidays in the first 3 weeks. Training: 2 to 8 weeks, mentoring after the training period. No hybrid working allowed during training until independent working established.

You will need a valid passport, 2 x proofs of address, proof of NI, and must have been living in the UK for the last 5 years.
