Job Description
Administrative Officer
Location: 2 Ruskin Square, Dingwall Road, Croydon CR0 2WF
Hourly rate: £15.92p/hr, hourly rate increases depending on shift pattern after training period.
Hybrid: 60 - 40 - 3 days in the office
Working Days/Hours: First 6 weeks - Monday to Friday: 9am-5pm, 37 hrs p/w
Currently we have 3 shifts during week days:
- Early: AOs start at 8 am or 9 am (depending in which team you work) - expected to work 7 hrs 24 min + breaks
- Mid: start at 9 or 11 am (depending in which team you work) - expected to work 7 hrs 24 min + breaks
- Late: start at 12:06 approximately - expected to work 7 hrs 24 min + breaks - Late shift currently ends at 8 o'clock
It is anticipated that from September, shift working will encompass 24-hour rota coverage, meaning the above regular operational hours will be extended to 08:00 to 22:00, 7 days a week and some night work will be expected. Also AHW terms mean that the business is buying flexibility from the staff member. For example, extending shifts at short notice, working a different shift or day than the scheduled day / shift etc

List the duties/ responsibilities:
This role has a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Considering and processing requests for accommodation in line with team guidance and standards for quality, productivity and timeliness to provide an excellent customer service to applicants and a range of internal colleagues and external partners.
- Booking transport and accommodation for destitute asylum seekers
- Liaison with internal colleagues or external partners to convey or obtain information or documents in relation to arrangements for transport collections, provision of accommodation, safeguarding and arrival / encounter details
- Checking and updating Home Office casework systems, updating spreadsheets and databases; managing inboxes
- Seeking opportunities for own self development; taking responsibility for completing mandatory training and working with managers to upskill and progress
- Support managers in embedding change and actively helping to drive forward Operational Excellence
- Represent Asylum and Human Rights positively by projecting a professional image to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders to help maintain customer service excellence accreditation
- Additional duties within the scope of the grade will vary dependant on business needs.
Training:
4-6 weeks training will be provided - 3 days per week will be based in the office
Clearance level (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application):
DBS + CTC
Role specific requirements:
You must hold a valid passport and must have lived in the UK for longer than 3 years. Please note that period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 3 years will unfortunately not be accepted. This role requires security clearance that will be processed for you, if successful.
