Job Description

Northamptonshire Police are recruiting for an Administration Clerk on a temporary basis for 6 months initially. The role is a mixture of home working and office working. Full time, 37 hours per week, Mon to Fri, £10.08 per hour

Purpose of the role:

To provide a comprehensive and effective administration service to Justice Department staff, including the co-ordination and tracking of all documentation for court. Provide administrative support to police colleagues and external agencies to contribute to the delivery of justice.

Main Responsibilities:

To input data onto the computer systems in order to index, trace and chase court files and documentation to ensure timescales are met and the smooth running of the Justice Department. Supply files and additional information to relevant Criminal Justice Agencies.

To examine and review all incoming requests for information and allocate the request for completion within the given timeframe.

To undertake initial Court file preparation for all first hearing files ensuring completion of MG10, provision of CCTV and copy exhibits.

To deal efficiently and professionally with telephone enquiries received in the Justice Department. Liaise with other agencies involved in Criminal Justice as required.

To use the relevant IT systems to research and provide information on outcomes of court hearings. Manage requests for previous convictions.

Actively support the relationships, systems and processes between the Justice Department, the districts and other Criminal Justice agencies taking a participative role in identifying improvements in working practices.

To maintain adequate supplies of stationery to ensure smooth running of the Justice Department. Maintain multi-function devices and escalate technical issues as required.

To undertake system resulting on completion of court cases, including weeding of physical files to central case file storage.

To cover appropriate administration tasks within the Justice Department.
