Job Description

Ministry Of Justice OPG

Location: Office of the Public Guardian, Nottingham

Job Title: Administrator (Case Manager)- Band E

Hours: 37Hours

Pay: 9.78ph

Duration: Current assignment length until end of March 2022 and likely to be extended

We have an exciting support opportunity to work with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). The OPG supports the work of the Public Guardian for England and Wales. The Public Guardian's responsibilities include registering lasting powers of attorney, supervising the work of attorneys and deputies and protecting people who lack capacity to make decisions for themselves.

This role requires good administration skills, a good telephone manner and a commitment to deliver excellent customer service and a high quality of work in a fast-paced environment.

Full comprehensive training and ongoing support will be given for the roles including an overview of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA)

Working on the Searches team involves each team member managing their own workload in a timely manner, by obtaining work from a shared email inbox. Each email and the form included with it must be checked and used to search two internal computer systems. Information is then taken from the computer systems and documents held on them to produce a result for the customer. The result is then provided in a Microsoft Word document and a response is sent out to the customer. All work is then logged on a daily work return.

This role has a target to be met as well as quality to provide the best service for our customers. The key requirements for a member of the searches team are to have excellent computer skills and be confident in all Microsoft products, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. The role also requires the applicant to have a keen eye for detail, which is most important in a role that can be repetitive.

Full training will be given for this role, which will include being assigned a buddy to help provide support.

*Please note working for the Ministry of Justice will require you to have photographic ID. This can be a Full-length Birth Certificate supported by a driving or provisional licence in your current address OR an in-date passport*
You will need to be security checked to Basic DBS Level and fully referenced for the last 3 years.
