Description

The TV Special Projects Team is looking for 30 Higher Executive Officers to help analyse responses to the recent consultation on the future of Channel 4. The is a politically high-profile project, which will have far reaching outcomes for public service broadcasting.

You'll be analysing responses from stakeholders and individuals who have given their views on a potential change of ownership of Channel 4. Every response must be analysed for a consultation to ensure we take the greatest possible body of evidence into account, and ensure all views are considered.

Your role will be to read and help code the responses to the consultation. Specifically, you will be coding the free text responses, known as open questions. Coding of qualitative evidence is the process of categorising the data, so that is can be grouped, linked and more easily analysed. We have developed a coding framework for each question. Your task will be to read the responses and select the code(s) from the framework that best fit each response.

You will be provided with comprehensive guidance, training and support on how to analyse and categorise responses. Your role will be to apply that guidance and your judgement to code responses and record the results. You will need to be comfortable working independently and at pace, and to be comfortable seeking support from the wider team where required.

Previous experience analysing responses to a government consultation or similar experience is desirable, but not essential. These roles will be remote. There will be no requirement to attend a DCMS office. The necessary IT equipment will be provided.

The broader requirements are in line with the standard requirements for the Clerical/Admin officer role framework.

Essential:
- IT literate
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Able to review responses and categorise them.
- Can remain motivated in a very monotonous data entry role
- Able to think for yourself and logically

The roles are subject to passing a clear standard DBS and a full 3 years referencing
