Job Description

** Adults Night Support Worker **
** Royston, Hertfordshire **
** Young adults with severe and profound Learning Difficulties **
** £17,745 - £19,671 / £8.75 - £9.70 **
** Night supplement of up to £2,730 per year on top of the salary above **

** Waking nights; 8.45pm - 8.15am / 39 hours per week on a 4 week rota pattern **

BS Social Care is looking Night Support Workers to work within a Young adult`s gorgeous residential setting with severe and profound Learning Difficulties within the Meldreth area of Hertfordshire near Royston, Hertfordshire.

About the employer, this employer is a privately ran organisation that offers supported living for young adults with severe and profound Learning Difficulties and complex health needs. They help to build key skills for their future after moving from education into adulthood. They are situated in Meldreth near Royston on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire boarder and currently undergoing a large refurbishment which will include upgraded learning and recreational areas, a new hydrotherapy pool and landscaped gardens and with multi-use activity areas. They are based in a rural area with beautiful landscape views. Offering services to children and young people to adults.

About the job; you will be working with young adults with sensory and physical disabilities, working waking nights and be providing personal care including; some personal care, assisting the service users with getting ready for bed, promoting a healthy sleeping pattern, completing care plans, light housework duties and helping to allow the young adult`s live an independent life as they learn key skills to help build their future. You will perform checks throughout the night and support the young adults when needed. You will then support the young adults in the morning, with personal care and getting ready for the day ahead before handing over to your Day Support Workers.

About the ideal candidate; ideally you will hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care however you will be considered and trained on this qualification if you do not already have it. Ideally you will have waking nights experience and or personal experience with friends or family members with Learning Difficulties or experience within a support or care type role. You will need to have great communication and interpersonal skills, high resilience and patience, be a robust, positive and creative person and a team player. We are ideally looking for drivers due to the location of the service and unable to be reached with public transport without walking.

In return, this organisation will offer a permanent full-time contract paying £17,745 - £19,671 which works out to be £8.75ph - £9.70ph with a night supplement bonus up to £2,730 on top. Your salary will be depending on experience and qualifications. They will offer you a 4 week Induction programme and you will need to complete The Care Certificate if you have not completed this in previous employment or have a certificate of completion. You will also receive additional training as you progress through your role.
