Location: Buxton

Job Title: Adventure Care Worker

Hours: Full time, permanent

Shifts: day-sleeps on a 4-on, 6-off basis

Salary: £30,704.40 to £33,933.60 per annum* (depending on qualifications held and undertaking 8 sleeps per month)

*£10.66 to £12.04 per hour days, £60 per sleep

We are looking for Adventurous Support Workers to join our assessment centre team in Buxton, Peak District. Our homes are various sizes therapeutic, EBD and complex trauma homes. You will have a keen interest in the outdoors and everything "adventure!"

The role of an adventure support worker will involve:

  • Contributing to the young person's care plans and risk assessments, their review and implementation.
  • Forming effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
  • Ensure the home is kept clean and in a tidy condition, adhere to the cleaning rota system, encouraging the young people to participate as appropriate.
  • Ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from shift and Managers.
  • Maintain and promote residential care work to high levels of professionalism expected by ourselves and Ofsted.
  • Contribute to the educational and social development of each young person and assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programs.
  • Meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximize opportunities for their development.
  • Up to 28-day adventure programs where you will be away from home/able to stay away for 4 days at a time

What we are looking for from you:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience in a childcare setting (desirable)
  • Passion to help nurture young people.
  • A real love for adventure. Outdoor activity qualifications (preferred)
  • Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins (Rota plan given in advance)
  • Full driving licence (essential)
  • All candidates must be over the age of 21
