Job Description

Great Opportunity to gain experience in a busy public sector environment!

Based in Newport City Centre in a state of the art building.

Contract: Temporary assignment 6-9 months
Start date: January 2019 on-wards (As soon as you`re cleared)
Salary: £7.98 per hour - rising to £10.60 per hour after a 12 week qualifying period
Hours: Part time roles based in the evening 5.30pm to 9.30pm Monday to Friday 20 hours a week.

All applicants must hold a valid passport and are required to hold a Counter Terrorist Check, which can take up to 12 weeks to process from receipt of your application.
We are looking for adaptable individuals, with the ability to work quickly and accurately showing great attention to detail whilst maintaining a professional attitude.
You will be provided with full training and support throughout your assignment from our Client and also Brook Street.

Key Responsibilities
" Process passport applications examining documentation and all other presented evidence making decisions based on evidence provided alongside policy and procedure guidelines to determine nationality and identity, resolving queries as they arise.

" Maintain the integrity of the UK passport identifying potentially fraudulent applications in accordance with fraud awareness training and HM Passport Office counter fraud strategy

" Request documentation from customers to support their application by telephone and face-to-face maintaining high quality customer service. Address the individual needs of each customer in a professional and respectful manner, using an appropriate tone and communication style. Resolving customer problems fairly and effectively seeking to improve the customer experience through continuous improvement

" Refer applications in line with policy for additional checks to be completed to confirm identify and entitlement and refer applications that are not within the examiner`s remit.

" Refer applications with recommendations where there does not appear to be a claim to a British passport.

" Withdraw applications at customer request or if there has been no contact.

" Develop and maintain knowledge of legislation, policy, procedure and security guidelines so as to complete all work in accordance with HM Passport Office Policy, Procedure and Best Practice guidelines.

" Work flexibly and provide support to other operational colleagues / areas as required.

" Take responsibility for own attendance, performance and personal development.

Note: An employee may be required to carry out other duties within the scope of the grade and within the limits of their skill, competence and training.

Employees will be required to work flexibly and can be asked to work in the back office and the counter according to business need.
