Brook Street is currently working on behalf of our Global IT Client to recruit an Application Architect. This is a contract role based in Reading/South West England for 6 months.

As a Brook Street contractor you will be entitled to 25 days holiday per annum, 8 days paid Bank Holidays pro rota, discounted gym membership, use of the onsite health facility, access to online learning and training, free parking and an excellent subsidised restaurant.

Salary: Up to £361.29 per day, based on experience, plus benefits

Job Description
Join a dynamic and growing application testing team as an experienced application migration architect providing customers with application architecture, design and technical guidance as well as testing best practices.

This role will involve working as a member of our software application architecture team dedicated to supporting one of our company's largest public-sector customers during their desktop modernisation programme.

This will include helping application owners migrate to our software applications by sharing development best practices, problem-solving, and developing Proof of concepts.

Responsibilities
A typical day in this role can include:
" Providing software application architecture, design and technical guidance
" Helping customer test a wide range of applications against the software build. Application technologies range.
" Assisting customers in troubleshooting application compatibility issues (best effort support).
" Creating documentation to share Application compatibility issues.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will be:
" 2 + years in a customer-facing application testing capacity
" Application Development/VBA Experience
" Able to scope customer testing requirements that lead to desired outcomes

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
" Works effectively with customers/stakeholders and with the testing team to support business targets.
" Builds credibility quickly with solid knowledge based on experience and up-to-date information.
" Has an eye for detail, accuracy and timeliness
" Is structured and organised in execution
" Can coach and mentor, sharing best practice where possible
" Security Clearance (SC)
" University degree in Software Engineering or relevant experience
