Brook Street Recruitment is working with our client in Newtownards who are looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to assist the Financial Controller in collating and providing high quality financial and non-financial decision-making information to Senior Management.

Also to provide administrative support to the Finance Department ensuring all policies and processes are adhered to.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Management & Financial Accounts
* Support in the preparation of Group Monthly Management accounts to a tight time-frame
* Assist with monthly journal preparation and postings
* Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Assist with monthly bank reconciliations in multiple currencies
* Support with the AP / AR functions
* Preparation of periodic reports on debtors and creditors positions
* Assist in the completion of monthly VAT returns and Intrastat reporting
* Maintain Fixed Asset Register
* Support in the preparation of Year End accounts for Audit review

Performance Evaluation & Analysis

* Assist with building a model for reporting KPI's
* Collate, monitor and report regularly on KPI's
* Variance analysis of actual vs budgeted costs of raw material and labour
* Reviewing and monitoring costs for reductions
* Perform cost benefit analysis of projects
* Cost allocation
* Direct Labour allocation
* Product profitability reporting
* Customer profitability analysis
* Carry out any other ad hoc duties as requested by the Financial Controller or Senior Management


Essential Criteria

* Qualified accounts technician / part qualified accountant or two year's experience in a similar role
* Must have Strong excel skills
