Job Description

My client a creative and textiles company based in Bradford are currently looking for an assistant buyer or buying assistant to join their close knit and busy buying team.

The role will involve sourcing UK based products from existing and new suppliers, providing accurate product specifications and manufacturers requirements.

The ideal candidate will also need to have excellent account management and customer service skills as you will be liaising with key suppliers and account managers for some large household brands and stores.

" Assist in producing costings for a range of products from all suppliers.
" Check supplier costings are in line with initial quotes.
" To manage the overall product specification process to ensure the product provided meets customer requirements.
" To collate all new product information from suppliers to ensure that new products are reviewed and analysed for the possibility of presenting to the sales team.
" To work collaboratively with Sales, QA, Stock and Accounts departments on pricing, product specifications and supply issues.
" Effectively communicate with other departmental teams, building positive working relationships and ensure relevant information is accurate and accessible.
" .To provide clear and accurate documentation of product costings and information for sales team, ensure information is kept available, accurate and up to date.
" To assist buying team in presenting new products to the sales team and ensure a robust samples process is executed.
" To carry out any other administrative support within the department when necessary
" To manage individual workload through effective planning and organising of tasks to ensure all targets and deadlines are met and to ensure an effective and efficient service is delivered to all users.

In return for this my client is open on the level of experience from 6 months +
Salary on offer of £18,000 - £23,000 depending upon level of knowledge and evidenced experience.


The working hours are Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 4.45pm and a 3pm Finish on Fridays.
