Assistant Data Manager - £35k

Cosham, Portsmouth

My client is looking for a full time Assistant Data Manager to start as soon as possible!

Reporting to Global Asset Manager, the Data Coordinator is responsible for creating and enforcing policies for effective data management, providing strategic and tactical delivery of master data and asset management guidance to the UK and global team. You will develop and promote a controlled data governance framework for optimum asset management and reactive/planned maintenance management, including data standards, best practices and data quality assurance, to increase efficiency in data and information handling.

You will take ownership of establishing a portfolio of improvement and assurance work through engaging with various teams and stakeholders, reviewing their data and advising how it can be used effectively; including supporting transformation projects.

Who's right for the job?

The role requires a combination of IT Technical and Engineering knowledge together with Leadership skills and an understanding of operational process and contract obligations.

You will have experience of managing a team and ideally knowledge of database and/or project management. You will be dealing with IBM products therefore an IT/Tech background would be beneficial.

Skills crucial to success in this role:

  • Experience in managing a team
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (must include advanced functions & formulas, statistical data analysis, dashboards & pivot tables, VBA & macros and other advanced functions.)
  • Experience in putting processes in place
  • Experience of running SQL scripts (desirable)
  • A logical and methodical mind-set
  • Outstanding active listening skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels both verbally and in writing.
  • A confident, self-motivated individual with strong business and organisational skills
  • Ability to excel under pressure and when working to tight deadlines, yet capable of demonstrating initiative, producing results and making sound decisions
  • Ability to organise workload and multi-task where necessary.

Ideal experience/knowledge:

  • Educated to GCSE level and A Level / Degree standard desirable
  • Five or more years of managing I.T database systems / Data Management
  • Detailed knowledge of various Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and setting up CAFM Systems (configuration)
  • Five or more years' experience with managing / supervising a team
  • Proven experience as a Data Manager
  • Experience of managing a multi-discipline service to complex facilities incorporating maintenance and engineering services.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of all Asset Management Philosophy's
  • Strong knowledge of the facilities management or similar industry
  • Proven experience of undertaking systems analysis and identifying and implementing business process improvements with the ability to explore a situation, assess and offer different options to formulate a plan that meets or exceeds objectives and expectations
  • Strong Analytical skills, with proven ability to collate, assess and present data

In return for your hard work our client offers a competitive salary of £35k per year. Working hours are Monday to Friday. 9am - 5pm with flexible hours.
