Job Role - Assistant Management Accountant.
Pay rate - Band 3-4, £9.50 per hour 37.5 hours per week.
Location - Lincoln - Hybrid Working available.
Duration - Maternity Cover - Up to March 2023 (possible extension)

General Task & Responsibilities.

To provide ad hoc costing on skill mix changes and vacant posts in line with establishment control procedures.
To request regular and ad hoc invoices to be raised for services provided by the Trust. To subsequently ensure that income is accounted for in accordance with the accruals concept.
Assistance in costing service changes, ensuring all costs relating to the service are identified.
To provide reconciled, financial analysis and interpretation of expenditure to managers in tabular or graphical format. To create advanced spreadsheets.
To contribute to the development of best practice within the Financial Management Team, by proposing and implementing agreed changes to working practices, which will improve the service provided.
To assist in the production of reference costs and service level reporting / patient level costing.
Ensure Electronic Staff Record (ESR) occupation code reporting and the financial ledger hold consistent information, identifying and investigating where discrepancies exist and implementing solutions, applying to budgeted and actual information.
Any other duties appropriate to the grade and post. The main focus will be within financial management but with the ability to offer support on tasks requiring the similar competencies within financial services



Monthly Processes

To take day to day responsibility for a range of budget areas, providing high quality financial monitoring information and offering advice and support to budget holders.
To complete designated jobs on task list to agreed deadlines, planning workload to meet the deadlines.
During and between month end, the identification of budget variances and investigation of the reasons for the variances, resolving errors where identified.
To involve in-depth analysis of data from a number of information systems i.e. General Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Payroll, Purchase
Order.
To interpret the analysis, and translate the data into useful management information.

To identify and discuss routine information with budget holders, and where there are barriers to understanding, provide explanations.
To communicate sensitively and confidentially.
To complete monthly income and expenditure forecasts for designated departments



Budgeting
To assist in the annual budget setting process
To assist with the calculation of budgets as part of the annual budget setting process for input to the Trust`s annual budget setting process.
To assist in identification of cost pressures to feed into business planning process.
Ad hoc
Demonstrate duties to new/less experienced members of staff as part of induction and provide on-going support.
Support in implementing internal audit recommendations and establishment control in line with procedure.
To attend meetings as a representative of the Finance & Supplies Directorate and to deal with queries arising from those meetings
Regular use of various computer software packages to input and process information.
To manipulate, analyse and utilise data to provide reports and useful financial information for both Trust personnel and external
customers.
To lead on other suitable projects commensurate with the role of the department and level of the post.
