Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is working with our Belfast client to recruit an Assistant Supervisor for our Food Processing client

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Take responsibility for the production process from the intake of raw material through the primary production stage for the processing of the fat;
* Ensure machines run at optimum efficiency while maintaining high standards;
* Be aware of the variances in raw materials and how this may affect the ability to process the fat and protein;
* Take responsibility for the quality of the finished product by monitoring the weight and quality of the raw material;
* Total working knowledge of all scheduled cleaning and preventative maintenance aspects for all equipment within the intake and primary production areas;
* Carry out all checks to ensure the quality and consistency of oil and protein production in line with production requirements;
* Ensure corrective action is taken immediately when product falls out of specification within the intake or primary production area;
* Maintain all documentation required for tracking production, quality, cleaning, hygiene and equipment (paper and computer files);
* Participate in mincer re-builds, separator and tri-canter services;
* Liaise with other departments regards all aspects of production;
* Promote health and safety in the work place and record any accidents and near misses as per our policy;
* Conduct relevant training sessions with staff;
* Work to the principles of LEAN manufacturing;
* Complete shift reports and communicate accordingly;
* Work closely with the quality team to ensure that all standards in relation to audits are met.

General:
* Comply with all company policies and procedures within the remit of this role;
* Carry out any other associated duties as may arise, develop or be assigned by management;
* Be flexible in approach to working hours.

Essential Criteria:

* At least 1 year's supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment;
* Previous experience of running a production line;
* Experience of record keeping with attention to detail;
* Hold a valid Counter Balance Forklift License;
* An awareness of health and safety legislation;
* Have excellent communication and problem solving skills;
* Demonstrate accuracy completing paperwork;
* Good standard of education, which includes English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

* IOSH Qualification;
* Knowledge of HACCP and CCP's;
* Experience of staff training and development.

Hours of work - Monday - Friday (shifts 9am - 5.30pm / 5pm - and 1.30am on a rotating 2-week pattern)

Salary will be circa £10.30per hour
