Job Description

A well-established reputable school is now recruiting for an Assistant Teacher / Learning Mentor in Thornbury, Bristol. You will be working with children between the age of 6 - 19 year olds who have special educational needs (SEN), Autism, OCD, epilepsy and will display challenging behaviour.

Main Job Role:
- You will support the Class Teacher during lessons
- Organising and implementing the national curriculum for students
- Carry an overview of all individual pupils & LSA's, offering guidance, advice and support, when appropriate; refer any concerns or points to note to class teacher
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans, deliver lessons and write evaluations, under guidance of class teacher
- Maintain photo bank of pupil's work for Record of Achievement

Qualifying candidates:
- Must have previous experience with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties / SEN
- Experience supervising staff
- Have a Degree or relevant qualification in education / teaching

Contract / terms:
- Salary is £19,200 - £20,464 per annum
- Mondays to Friday (40 hours a week)
- Shifts are 8:30am - 5pm with 30mins lunch
- You will work 41 week out of 52 weeks per years
