- Job Title: Personal Secretary
- Location: Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry
- Duration: 6-9 months
- Pay: £12.86 PH paid weekly,
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday with shifts from 8am - 4pm or 8:30am - 4:30pm
As a Personal Secretary, you will:
- Provide essential secretarial support to consultants and their teams.
- Manage day-to-day clinical activities and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Compile admission and theatre lists, ensuring efficient patient management.
- Guide patients on medication protocols prior to surgery.
- Validate data quality reports and manage results from x-ray and laboratory systems.
- Manage the consultants dairy/schedule informing appropriate staff of changes to work schedule which affects theatre and out-patient scheduling.
- Exercise judgement and use own initiative to provide non-clinical advice, information and guidance directly to patients, relatives and carers, requiring an intermediate level of medical terminology and procedures
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- An HNC/HND or equivalent qualification with at least 1 year of clerical/administrative experience in a clinical setting OR
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language plus 2 years of relevant experience OR
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clerical/administrative role within a clinical setting.
- Proficiency in word processing (OCR/RSA Stage 3 or equivalent).
