Our prestigious City client provides operational services through the Real Time Gross Settlement System(RTGS) to internal and external customers supporting accounts for banks, building societies, financial market infrastructures, and most recently, non-bank payment service providers. It also provides sterling settlement services for Bacs, CHAPS, Cheque & Credit, CREST, Faster Payments (FPS), LINK, Visa and cheque clearing.
Your role is an operational one on the RTGS system. Your focus will be on delivery of projects and change plus incident/crisis management in order to keep this central function running efficiently.
This will be based around a daily schedule across a number of flexible shifts working across two locations -in the CITY as well as in Loughton Essex.
Ideally you will come from a banking/back office environment with experience of running internal payment systems.
You will act as a point of referral for resolution of operational and technical issues as they arise. Your role along with other team members will be the initiation, design, testing and implementation of changes to business processes and systems.
You will become an `expert` in all technical aspects of the operations of RTGS and acquiring in-depth industry knowledge and ensuring this remains current.
You will be Identifying improvements and making recommendations to enhance internal controls and procedure, encouraging operational excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.
You will also be involved in testing and analysis (around 200 tests per year).
You need good previous experience of project work and change implementation in financial services/banking/settlements with strong IT skills, including MS Office
The shift pattern is as follows between the City and Essex on a rota basis - but you will be expected to complete @8 early and 4 late shifts per month

10 - 18:00
12:00 - 20:00
With taxis available for the very early start and late finish and extra payments available for shifts and weekends.
There is the potential to substantially increase the basic salary by a minimum of £6000 per year as well as a wide range of brilliant benefits
