Job Description

I am recruiting for a Business Analyst for my award winning client who is based by Birmingham airport with an immediate start available and they are open to permanent and contract options and are offering a negotiable salary dependant on experience.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Technical Solutions Director you will be responsible for mapping out and evaluating the company's processes and reporting on how effective they currently are, what elements are able to be allocated to different areas of the business and how certain processes can be improved. You will be tasked at documenting all of your findings and presenting them to the senior stakeholders, partners and clients and ensuring that the planning and training behind new processes are rolled out.

This is a busy and challenging role offering you the opportunity to really get to research and understand lots of different areas of the business, no logistics experience is necessary, just the ability to learn a new industry with the confidence to be able to make practical and positive changes.

THE COMPANY

My client is a leading and award winning operational logistics freight forwarder headquartered in Birmingham. They operate mainly ocean and air importation and exportation freight services; you will be joining a forward thinking and growing company who are going from strength to strength.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE FOR?

- Capture the current ways of working by engaging with the respective stakeholders and operation leads and using this as a baseline on which to assess change, both internally and externally to the company

- Engage key stakeholders in on-going dialogue and review

- Discuss with business stakeholders and operational leads in deriving the target business and information processes as supported by the company's platform and any additional software solutions

- Identify the processes and information technology required to introduce your recommendations

- Present technology solutions that demonstrate tangible business benefit to stakeholders

- Consider opportunities and potential risks attached to suggestions you make

- To ensure that the system requirements are fully met and documented by communicating and working closely with the users

- Include notification of any issues which may have an effect on the required or targeted delivery date

- Ensure that changes to internal, client and partner processes are fully documented so that their implementation is successful and clearly understood

- Design and execute training programmes, so that those impacted by the changed processes are fully equipped to meet the operational needs

- To provide expertise or assistance to peers, users and fellow colleagues in application areas where you have acquired a more in-depth understanding and knowledge

- Present the information and collaboration capabilities to promote the business to current and prospective clients

- Continuously review, improve and roll-out out processes within different areas of the business

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Working within the logistics industry is not required

- 5+ years proven track record in a similar role / responsibility

- Proven ability to gather requirements, analyse and specify a solution to satisfy user requirements

- Knowledge and understanding of business analysis methodologies and techniques

- Committed to providing excellent standards of customer service

- Familiarity and experience using MoSCoW method prioritisation technique

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent planning and attention to detail

- Excellent communication and influencing skills

- A structured approach to capturing business and information processes

- Ability to manage change in a fast-changing environment

- Ability to motivate technical teams

- Ability to manage projects, including those of a complex nature, to an agreed brief and timescale

- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly with senior stakeholders, clients and partners

- May be required to work overtime, weekends and/or be flexible in start/finish times
