Job Description

Our Global IT client is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their ever-growing team. Our client has built a deeply multi-disciplinary team to enable them to really push the boundaries and make science fiction become close to reality. They are looking at adding a new skillset into the team to help them all be successful. The team is around only 70 people, but they all share a drive and passion to change the world. They've been successful in pushing to the edge of viability new optical storage, networking and compute technologies. But today, as some of these technologies reach the stage where they are ready for productisation, one of the biggest challenges they face is "crossing the chasm". Our client is looking for someone to join them to help them create innovative business plans and business models around their new technology pipeline. They are a highly dynamic and capable team and we are looking for someone to join us to work with us with a growth mindset. Someone happy to partner our internal partners, with early adopters and customers, and with other stakeholders. Someone who is willing to dive in and create a slide deck that explains the scale of an opportunity, willing to describe a different business model or service that is enabled by different technology, and also willing to dive in to try and understand where we may be on costs. This is a varied role in an agile team!

You will be confident in using Microsoft Excel A subset of the following skills and a willingness to lean in on the ones that you currently do not have: Marketing, Finance, Strategic Management, Sales, Proposal Writing, Mergers and Acquisitions, Customer Relationship Management, Communication, Analysis, Report Writing, Business, Insight, Attention to Detail, Calculation, Presentation, Self-Reliance, Team Player, Persuasion, Organisation, Enthusiasm.

Although the role supports a large team predominantly based in Cambridge the position is remote based. There may be some travel to the office from time to time.

This is a contract position until 30th June 22, with an extension to a maximum 18 month contract length. Paying £72,000pa based on experience, with benefits and 5% bonus upon completion. If this exciting and critical role interests you please apply today.
