Job Description

To be a member of the Academy Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for the operational planning, organisation and management of all non-teaching aspects of the school (as detailed below) promoting and sustaining, teaching and learning within a high-quality environment.

Reporting to: The Principal Liaising with: Academy Leadership Group, Federation staff, parents and other appropriate stakeholders in order to fulfil the JD.

Main area of responsibility; Line Management * Professional accountability for all support staff, ensuring that the support staff structure supports the effectiveness and efficiency of the Academy. * Lead, manage and make decisions on support staff areas to include Finance, Academy Asset Register, General Administration, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Premises and ICT. * Monitoring, evaluate and make decisions on the effectiveness of the support provided to the Academy, providing the Principal with a weekly operational status update. * Making decisions on resource usage to ensure that the academy is compliant with government legislation in all non-teaching support areas. * Ensure all support staff have up to date JDs and objectives, and training needs are regularly appraised. * Liaise regularly with and advise teaching staff on the operational use of non-teaching staff and provide quality control of their work.

Finance Liaise with the Federation Business partner to ensure accuracy of monthly management accounts, before they are presented to the Principal or Governors. * Lead support for the Principal in budget planning alongside the Federation Business partner. * Lead to ensure the Academy is financially compliant as per the DfE's 'Academies financial handbook'. * Ensure there are rigorous financial systems are in place for Academy purchases through each budget area. * Manage any spend on the Academy's credit card and ensure appropriate documentation is submitted. * Be responsible for signing off any expenses claims as per Federation policy. * Be responsible, in conjunction with the Principal, for agreeing any overtime, noting that it is not Federation policy to agree overtime except in exceptional circumstances. * Lead, manage and advise on decisions on the management/selection of preferred suppliers, ensuring adherence to Federation best value principle. Academy Asset Register Oversight of the efficient and effective monitoring of Academy capital assets in liaison with the Federation. Ensure all Academy assets are recorded on a single central register. Inform the Principal of any losses during the year and to submit a termly list of any assets that have been disposed of. Adhere to the guidance in the Academy's financial handbook on asset management. Ensure Academy purchases are carried out as per the DfE 'Academies financial handbook'. Work with the Finance Officer to secure rigorous financial systems are in place for Academy purchases through each budget area.

General Administration Responsibility for the management of the Administration team to ensure the provision of an effective administration system to enable the Academy to function and develop effectively Oversee the collation of pupil and staff data. Lead on the statistical report generation and statutory returns. Lead and make sure that there is compliance with and administration of the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018 and the Freedom of Information Act. Develop effective communication systems, including telephony and internet to ensure access to information for all stakeholders. Support the development of professional reception "front of house" services to welcome and process visitors to the school.

Professional qualification e.g. CIPD or Equivalent to NVQ Level 4 Experience of working in an inner-city school or educational Experience of managing budgets Experience of managing HR issues
