Job Description

NHS Digital - Band 5 Business Support
Location: Leeds
Hours: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)
Pay: £12.74

This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension at the discretion of the business requirements.

This post holder will be working in a department-level business support team assisting with all operational duties.

Post responsibilities will include supporting resource and financial / business planning, invoicing activities, support for new work activity within the department, ensuring accurate maintenance of central tools and repositories and general administrative tasks.

The post-holder will handle multiple sources of information and produce a range of reports to ensure deadlines are met and relevant quality standards are maintained so competency in excel and data analysis is essential for the role

While not a management role, the post will involve working with a high level of autonomy, with the post holder being able to prioritise their own work in order to meet business objectives.

Essential

Proficiency in software packages to an intermediate level: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio

Proven ability of gathering, recording and analysing information from a variety of sources, using such information to prepare and maintain a range of business documents and databases, including methods and techniques for configuration, storage, and version control.

Proven ability to use sound analysis, incorporating facts and situational analysis to provide senior management staff with recommendations and/or support decisions.

Working Knowledge of the importance of information governance, i.e. maintaining the confidentiality of information, storing information in the right place, and making sure information is recorded clearly and accurately

Experience of effective internal and external stakeholder management, building and maintaining relationships through excellent communication.

Desirable

Some experience of regularly reviewing and developing new/ongoing improvements to procedures and protocols to ensure effective and efficient delivery of service

Able to show an understanding of service / project objectives and contribute to planning of activities, considering risks, issues and delivery objectives to ensure effective and efficient operational delivery.

Knowledge of software applications and databases used for managing documents, with knowledge of records management techniques.

Knowledge of the terminology used within the health and social care system.
