BUSINESS SUPPORT CLERKS


£19,650 - £20,444

Belfast City Council has retained Brook Street (UK) Ltd to manage the recruitment of Business Support Clerks for various departments within Belfast City Council, and Brook Street (UK) Ltd is now welcoming applications for these fantastic roles with this fantastic public sector organisation.


The Business Support Clerks will work in administrative roles in various departments throughout Belfast City Council, and will be responsible for assisting in the provision of a comprehensive, efficient, and effective business support service.

They will perform assigned duties and tasks in accordance with specified time and quality standards including the prioritisation of their own workload. They'll represent the appropriate line manager in routine day-to-day matters, and act in accordance with the Council's customer care principles ensuring that the Council's obligations to its customers are achieved.

Candidate must have good IT-literacy. All candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word. In addition, it is essential that candidates are able to demonstrate the following attributes:

Written communication skills - the ability to complete standard forms, draft letters from basic information provided, take accurate minutes of meetings etc.

Oral communication skills - the ability to provide information, advice, and guidance to other staff, Managers, and customers in a clear and effective manner.

Team working skills - the ability to be an effective team member, contributing to the achievement of team objectives.

Customer care skills - the ability to understand the specific needs of internal and external customers and to respond in a prompt and effective manner.

Information Technology skills - the ability to input, locate, retrieve, and print data from relevant information systems etc.

Work planning skills - the ability to organise diary dates and meetings, and to plan, prioritise, and complete scheduled work by the required deadlines.
