Job Description

My Public Sector Client based in Birmingham, is looking for a Business Support Officer to support their Environment Business Services department. This is a temporary ongoing role, Monday to Friday 9.00 to 5.30pm, 37.00 hours a week.

The role will require you to work independently to carry out required tasks and activities in a business support or customer facing capacity. You will be expected to exercise judgement in prioritising and highlighting potential issues and build relationships based on understanding customers' needs and providing the service required.

It is important that you have strong literacy and numeracy skills and also an aptitude for using IT packages efficiently to deliver work and also be able to learn specialised systems as required. You will be required to analyse and manipulate data, so a strong knowledge of Excel would be beneficial, as this role is very process heavy.

You will need to provide a comprehensive and proactive service to the team and / or service users, ensuring efficient assistance in a range of professional and / or business support activities. You will also need to provide timely data / information to teams and services users, ensuring it is accurate and fulfils customer requirements. This may involve preparing routine reports / analyses / presentations. In some cases, this may require use of specialised systems and information.

You must maintain good customer focus to ensure effective relationship building and partnership working to support the organisation and its business objectives. You may act as customer contact for the team, collating and coordinating responses to and from customers and partners on business management and support queries. You must consider the sensitivity and / or confidentiality of work undertaken and handle information appropriately.

A DBS and full referencing will be required for this role, your DBS will be refunded after 4 working weeks in assignment. This role is paying £12.08 per hour.
