Job Description

NHS England - Band 5 - Finance Business Support

Pay: £ 10.83ph - 12.74ph

Hours: Monday-Friday 37.5 hours

Address: Quarry House, Leeds Centre

Duration: Until the end of August (possibility of extension depending on client needs and requirements)

Job purpose

The Business Support Officer will provide an efficient support service across the busy commercial and finance team. The post holder will be required to support with the management of commercial and financial activity within the Data and Analytics team at NHSE/I and may also be required to provide personal support to some team members as needed.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide general admin support across the team including organising meetings, electronic filing, making travel arrangements and other basic administrative tasks.

· Efficient management and maintenance of the activity trackers

· Use finance software for purposes of financial management - specifically procurement, receipting and payments (including invoice investigations) on Oracle is essential

· Provide support at various meetings - including note/minute taking, recording actions, updating records and registers and other duties as required.

· Provide first drafts of correspondence, papers and/or reports as required.

· Assist the senior team with routine programme management tasks.

· Raising purchase orders

· Maintaining excel spreadsheet

Key requirements for the role

· The ideal candidate will be very well organised and be able to juggle competing priorities in a busy environment.

· The candidate will be a good communicator within a team and be able to act on behalf of members of the programme team when given specific tasks.

· The ideal candidate will appreciate the often-sensitive nature of this area of work and be mindful of this when completing tasks.

· Experience of commercial and procurement processes in a public sector setting is essential.

· Knowledge of the NHS would be desirable but not essential

· Proven finance experience/work history is essential
