Brook Street is working with our Belfast client to recruit a full time and permanent Buyer to join their expanding team

The candidate hired will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors for one or more product lines.

This requires evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the best overall value for the company and their customers.

Duties:

• Oversee a team of 2 (local buyers , mainly UK, and an Expediter/Logistics person)
• Responsible for maintaining stock levels in line with sales
• Reviewing dead or slow stock with sales and production teams
• Upkeep of stock details on Sage professional
• Liaise with main suppliers in China and Italy (limited amount 6/10 companies)
• Work with sales and production to manage stock required for sales and production
• Develop new suppliers worldwide
• Oversee imports and duty payments from China and Europe

Criteria:

• Applicants must at least 5 year's experience with a qualification (SIPPS, degree etc)
• Strong Commercial awareness
• Strong Interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiating
• Ability to make decisions
• Ability to cope with pressure and adapt to situations.
• Strong Analytic skills.
• Maths and IT skills
• Able to work well in a team.

Salary will be determined at interview based on background / experience
