Our client, based in the Gwent area within the electronics manufacturing market are looking for a Buyer on a permanent basis.
Key responsibilities include managing and driving down costs, strategic sourcing, help lead commodity strategies, contract negotiation, supplier management and development, and helping to improve, consolidate and optimise purchasing department processes.
Skills required for the Senior Buyer role:
" Must have a proven track record of incurring electronics cost savings.
" Strategic sourcing experience on a global scale desired
" Experience of procuring engineering/ electronics commodities
" Must have experience within defence, aerospace or electronics (or relatable) manufacturing
" Strong negotiation skills at a senior level.
" Experience of negotiating high value more complex contracts
" Strong supplier relationship management experience, comfortable being the main interface with suppliers on a daily basis, with the ability to manage and ensure suppliers deliver effectively and on time, on cost, on quality.
" A proven track record of improving supplier performances
" Building strong relationships with Internal customers in order to effectively serve their needs, often with shorter than expected timescales.
" Must be a pro- active and confident individual, eager to develop their skills within the purchasing department and display enthusiasm for career progression within procurement.
" Ability to work competently as an individual but comfortably as part of a team.
" Strong organisation skills.
" Fantastic people and communication skills

Key skills required for the Senior Buyer:
" Procurement experience within electronics (or relatable) manufacturing environments
" Must have a proven track record of achieving results with the ability to perform to demanding deadlines.
" Degree Level or Equivalent/ relevant work experience would be highly advantageous
" Hold or working towards CIPS Membership would be advantageous
" Proven track record and experience of incurring substantial cost savings
The role is based in the Gwent area, commutable from - Newport, Cardiff, Bristol, Swansea and surrounding areas.
