Job Description

Well established Halifax based company are currently looking for a Buyers Assistant to join their team.

They have a global presence and are looking for an individual who can be flexible and accommodate US working hours (13:30 - 22:00) as and when required. Usual working hours will be 9:00 - 17:30 Monday - Friday.

This is a varied and exciting role, perfect for a candidate looking to take the next step within a career within purchasing, or a candidate looking to take on more procurement duties with an innovative and expanding company. On a day to day basis your role will include:

Communication with internal stakeholders; regular liaison with Project Managers, finance and PMO, providing insight on supply chain issues and lead times, this will include attending regular project meetings.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers predominantly in the UK and US; negotiating prices and ensuring lead times can be met
Monitoring the supply chain, flagging any issues with lead times to the relevant parties
Managing project and internal logistics, monitoring and ensuring the required costs and timescales are adhered to
Aiding the Procurement Manager with administrative tasks, such as the completion of pricing cost sheets and updating of CRM system, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of information

We`re looking for a proactive candidate who enjoys problem solving. To be shortlisted for interview we`re looking for the following skills and experience:
Flexibility - the role will require US shift patterns (13:30 - 22:00) depending on US/UK project levels, you will need to be willing to work these hours when required by the company.
Previous experience within a buying/procurement/supply chain role; ideally with regular supplier liaison
We`re also looking for excellent communication and relationship building skills; you`ll need the confidence to negotiate and build lasting relationships with suppliers.

In return our client offers;
A salary of £18,000 - £20,000
