CAD Design Manager (Automotive Sector)
Competitive Salary dependant on experience
Monday - Friday
8:00 - 17:00
Saturday Mornings on a rota basis (paid overtime)
* 3 Years+ Experience with Autodesk's AutoCAD Experience Required
* 3 Years+ Experience of Engineering and/or Construction drawing principles
Who will you be working for?
You could be working with an industry leading company, growing year on year, an opportunity has arisen for a CAD Design Manager to join the Design team. You will be working out of a new, purpose-built modern office, free parking on site and unlimited coffee.
What will you be responsible for?
You will be responsible for leading a small design team, assisting in converting verbal and written information into 2D Drawings which will aid the design and installation of the companies engineering products.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
- Line manage your team & effectively manage work loads
- Motive and develop your team
- Complete detailed drawings, accurately and efficiently
- Process and check incoming drawings from suppliers and contractors
- Work with other departments to provide detailed information and time estimations
- Ensure accurate document control
- Participate in the design and development of new and existing projects

What is our client looking for from you?
A proven track record of your brilliance is essential. You should also have a high degree of competency on Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook. You must have excellent communication, numeracy and IT skills. An eye for detail and accuracy is essential.
* 3 Years+ Experience with Autodesk's AutoCAD Experience Required
* 3 Years+ Experience of Engineering and/or Construction drawing principles Understanding of engineering and/or construction drawing principles
* Ideally 3 years experience of people management
Experience in technical space planning and/or Technical architecture in constructing new builds
Technical qualifications, HNC / HND or Degree in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering would be an advantage
Strong problem solver and a natural ability to come up with practical solutions
Demonstrable experience of time management skills and a highly organised nature, with the ability to produce accurate work in pressurised timescales.
Good colour vision, and the ability to visualise designs in 3D
