Working in Partnership with North West Ambulance NHS Trust, Brook Street are looking to recruit for the following long-term temporary positions.

Role: NHS Band 3 111 Contact Centre Call Handlers
Locations: Horwich
Pay Rate £10.09 per hour with an out of hours and weekend & Bank Holiday shift allowance
Duration: 12 weeks temp to perm contracts

We are looking for reliable and committed individuals to support the exceptional NHS Staff within the Ambulance Service control Hubs on a new ongoing project within emergency operation centres.

You will be responsible for assessment of presenting clinical , using a clinical software tool in order to sign post and transfer patients to appropriate providers. To give homecare advice as required using supporting software.

It will be your responsibility to manage challenging situations calmly and with patience before progressing them through the right channel. You may also be dealing with GP/Hospital admission and bookings and lots more.

We are looking for strong professional applicants with exceptional customer service skills, this must be demonstrated on your CV. You must be good at communicating with all different types of people. You must be patient, have empathy and the ability to make decisions on your own when needed. You must be proactive and enjoy working in a bust and demanding environment.

We are looking for candidates that are able to work 25, 30 or 37.5 hours per week (25 hours - 5x5hr shifts, 30 hours - 5x6hr shifts, 37.5 - 5x7.5hr shifts)

Candidates must be fully flexible to work the contracted hours between 0800-2200, Monday to Sunday and must work a minimum of 6/8 weekend shifts per month.

The training course is FULL TIME for 6 weeks.
Classroom training for the first four weeks is 0800-1600 with the weekends off.
Weeks five and six are preceptorship weeks, taking live calls and will therefore be working a couple of different shifts with at least one weekend shift per week


Ideally you must be able to drive due to location of work, but not essential if you arrange your own transport, and be willing to potentially travel to a different North West location for training - free parking on site. However, you must be able to get yourself to the Bolton area for around 2 weeks training (these hours will be approx. 8-4 Monday- Friday)

We have start dates on the 11th and 25th of October so you must be able to start on these dates

You must be able to provide us with full referencing details and you pass a Criminal Records Check.

You will be required to attend a full registration once we have telephoned screened you.
