Job Description

Brook Street are recruiting on behalf of a Government body for a number of Call Handlers to work in a call centre environment, on a temporary to permanent contract.

The call centre is not like normal call centres. Your role will involve taking inbound calls and summarising their issues and either transferring the calls to a relevant person or sending an email back requesting a call back. There will also be an element of advice you can give out to the service users too. You will also be required to go through the database to enter in any missing data and be using the in-house system. With Mondays being the busiest day, no day is the same; some days maybe busier than others, some quieter. The call centre has bean bags and lava lamps and aim for a relaxed environment with very supportive line management and mentors.

To be suitable for this role:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • You must have an excellent telephone manner
  • Be able to speak to customers with empathy and be a good listener
  • Have good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Be able to work well as a team
  • Be able to solve problems as they arise - please remember full training will be given
  • Be able to use multiple systems

Please note that we will need to reference you for 3 years from present date. You must be able to commit to Monday - Thursday 9am-5pm, and finish on 4:30pm on a Friday. Car parking is available on site and you will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS.
