Job Description

We are working with a local hospice based in the Bradford area and they are looking for a new Catering Assistant.
Salary: £17,290
Working hours: 35 hours per week

Responsibilities and requirements

Knowledge of and practice all regulations of food hygiene

Serve visitors, patients, staff, and volunteers

Ensure daily supplies of tea, coffee, sugar and milk are replenished in various pantries.

Deliver food trolleys to the In Patient and Day Therapy Unit as required

Take payment for food when applicable

Prepare education/discussion rooms for meetings/functions as instructed, including the delivery/collection of food and beverages

Assist with service of meals/buffets for functions/meetings/ occasional visits

Assist with basic food preparation, including sandwiches and buffets

Accept deliveries and store in correct location.

General cleaning and washing up duties.

Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment.

Duties will be flexible on a rota basis - late evening shifts will sometimes be required to cover various activities.

To apply all food handling procedures as set out in the food hygiene policy and current Food Hygiene Legislation.

Personal Spec:

Catering experience

Awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace

Basic Food Handling Certificate or willing to work towards this- desirable
